11-Year-Old Injured When Trying to Cross Glenn Hwy

An 11-year-old boy was taken to an Anchorage hospital in critical condition after being hit by a car while he was trying to cross the Glenn Highway on his bicycle.

ANCHORAGE- An 11-year-old boy was taken to an Anchorage hospital in critical condition after being hit by a car while he was trying to cross the Glenn Highway on his bicycle.
Police say in a release that the boy crossed the highway's inbound lanes, but was hit after trying to cross the outbound lanes Monday night.
The boy hasn't been identified. Another boy with him was uninjured.
Police say the accident happened near the Muldoon exit of the highway, near the Tikahtnu Commons shopping center.
Authorities say some people are attempting to use a man-made pathway near the shopping center to cross the highway. Police say people should using designed bike paths and sidewalks for safety reasons.
