ANCHORAGE- Anchorage police say someone intentionally lit wildfires at the city's Russian Jack Springs Park and they're asking the public's help to identify a suspect.
Fire Department Battalion Chief Yram Lopez says that firefighters spotted a man with a blond ponytail, an orange shirt and camouflage shorts or pants and that he may have been involved with the suspicious fires.
Emergency responders at about 9:15 Monday night responded to columns of smoke from woods east of the Cartee Fields softball complex.
Firefighters extinguished five fires set 50 to 100 yards apart.
The suspicious man was spotted from a large aerial ladder.
Lopez says the man spoke to firefighters and said he was looking for his brother. The man then ran off.
