Alaska Air Guardsman Dies in Maryland After FallA 26-year-old member of the Alaska Air National Guard has died of injuries suffered when he fell from the balcony of his seventh floor hotel room in Baltimore, Maryland.
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - A 26-year-old member of the Alaska Air
National Guard has died of injuries suffered when he fell from the balcony of his seventh floor hotel room in Baltimore, Maryland. Maj. Guy Hayes said Friday that Senior Airman Cameron Mixsooke of Kenai was returning to Alaska after a six-month deployment in Kuwait. Hayes says witnesses reported seeing him climb over the balcony railing and fall Thursday. He was pronounced dead at Baltimore Washington Medical Center. The spokesman says it's unclear why he climbed over the railing. The death is under investigation. Mixsooke was a member of the Air Guard's 176th Civil Engineer Squadron. He had been an Alaska Air Guard member since 2007 and had prior Army service. He is survived by his wife, Samantha, of Kenai, and his parents, Sharon & Reuben Mixsooke of Unalakleet. Most Popular |
