Anchorage Woman Held After Attempted Baby DrowningAn Anchorage woman has been arrested after allegedly trying to drown her 7-month-old child.
ANCHORAGE - An Anchorage woman has been arrested after allegedly trying to drown her 7-month-old child.
Police say a release that 40-year-old Crystal Hawkins was charged with attempted murder after calling 911 Sunday, saying she just tried to drown her daughter in the bathtub. Hawkins' husband told officers the child coughed up water after he turned her upside down. Detectives who saw the child later at a hospital say she appears to be fine. Hawkins is being held without bail pending arraignment. Police say on Friday, Hawkins was visiting at a cousin's apartment. When the cousin stepped outside for a phone call, police say Hawkins locked her out and fled out a window, leaving the child alone. At that time, Hawkins' mother took custody of the child, but all live together. Most Popular |
