An autopsy has concluded that a 20-year-old man died of natural causes last month in an Anchorage jail cell.

Reports say Davon Mosley died of internal bleeding brought on by 14 ulcers in his intestines.

Corrections Department Director of Institutions Bryan Brandenburg says an investigation is continuing into the actions of officers who supervised the jail unit where Mosley died.

Mosley was found dead in his cell April 4.

The death was followed six days later by the death of 24-year-old Amanda Kernak at Hiland Mountain Correctional Center. Family members of both questioned how two young people could die in state care.

Corrections Department health care administrator Laura Brooks says 10 to 12 prisoners die each year and experiencing three deaths through April was not atypical.
