John Bagley charged with attempted murder in South Anchorage Stabbing

ANCHORAGE-73-year-old John Bagley is arraigned Thursday for his involvement in his wife's stabbing.  Bagley admitted he had "intentions to kill his wife," according to Charging documents.

Bagley is charged with first degree attempted murder and first degree assault.
Bagley and his wife, Judy Bagley had allegedly been arguing when she revealed she wanted a divorce and had given an attorney a retainer fee of five thousand dollars, according to charging documents.

Bagley "grabbed a butcher knife" and began stabbing his wife.Documents say she had wounds on her hands and chest. She ran outside the home and slipped on ice in the driveway. Next door neighbor, Donald Brown was walking his dog heard the woman yelling for help and ran to help her.

In the charging documents, the neighbor says he saw Bagley stab his wife in the chest. Brown was armed with a gun and fired a warning shot into the air.Brown  Police say Bagley was armed with a hand gun and the butcher knife.

Brown intervened between Bagley and his wife until Police arrived and took Bagley into custody.
Police say Judy Bagley is in critical but stable condition.
