Judge Finds Accused Rapist Guilty on All Counts
A jury finds accused serial rapist Richard Dorsey, 46, guilty on all counts including sexual 1st degree assault.
ANCHORAGE- A jury finds accused serial rapist Richard Dorsey, 46, guilty on all counts including sexual 1st degree assault.
The 12 charges stem from a series of rapes spanning back to 2001. APD Sergeant Ken McCoy says there are five victims in the case.
Two years ago, reports say a superior court judge sentenced Dorsey to 5 years in prison stemming from an assault on a woman at the Huffman Carrs Grocery store in 2006. Police solved the overall case in 2009.
McCoy says he wants victims of these types of crimes to know detectives are working tirelessly.
"Sometimes it takes months or years for us to solve them," said Sgt. Ken McCoy, Anchorage Police Dep., Special Victims Unit. "But they can be rest assured that when we do solve them were going to bring them forward and do our best to have them prosecuted, and this case is reflection of that."
Dorsey is being held with-out bail. Sentencing is set for this January.
