ANCHORAGE - A pedestrian was killed while crossing a busy Anchorage street.

Anchorage police say the man who was in his 40s was killed Monday night while crossing Tudor Road at Wright Street.

Police spokesman Lt. Dave Parker says the driver of the vehicle that hit the man stopped. He says traffic in both directions was shut down for a time while police investigated the accident.

Parker says another pedestrian was hit in the same area Sunday, but was not killed.
