Police Do Not Suspect Anchorage Woman To Be Kidnapped
Public Safety Link
Police are still looking for Anchorage woman, Susan Geraci, last seen on Friday, June 8.
Geraci lived in a trailer in East Anchorage that burned down last Wednesday. People from work said her sudden disappearance was uncharacteristic.
Anchorage Police said 45-year-old Susan Geraci was deep in debt and had her car voluntarily repossessed the day after her trailer home went up in flames.
Geraci was last seen on Friday when she returned her car to AlaskaUSA, repossessed due to an unpaid loan. Her boss at the Ramada Inn said Geraci had recently removed all of her belongings that she usually kept in the office, and even asked for a cash advance for her last check.
Police said neighbors saw Geraci leaving her East Anchorage mobile home in a red Hyundai Accent on June 6th. Her home burned down the morning of June 7, and the next day the tow company took her car.
Although it's not completely ruled out, police said foul play is not suspected in Geraci's disappearance, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Police and coworkers from the Ramada Inn said they are concerned for geraci.
"The police are not concerned that she's become a victim of a kidnapping or anything of that nature, we just feel that she may have gone missing on her own, possibly is in danger to herself. We just want to help her, find her, and try to find help for her," said APD Spokesperson Anita Shell.
Police said Geraci has a boyfriend who lives in Texas and works on the North Slope. Geraci has sent belongings with him to Texas in the past, and has talked about moving there with him. But when police contacted him, they say the last time Geraci contacted him was a text message sent on June 6.
"Susan, all of the staff at the Ramada and myself, we care about you, we miss you very much, and we are worried about you. So if you're out there, please give us a call. We would love to hear from you, and we hope you're well," said Geraci's employer at the Ramada Inn, Susan Kaer.
Geraci drives a red 2009 Hyundai Accent, weighs 120 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes. The public is asked to call Anchorage Police at 786-8900 with any information regarding her whereabouts.
