Woman Struck By Stray Bullet in Her Midtown Apartment

A 50-year-old woman is recovering from a gunshot wound Thursday (10/18) after she was hit by a stray bullet while in her apartment.

ANCHORAGE - A 50-year-old woman is recovering from a gunshot wound Thursday (10/18) after she was hit by a stray bullet while in her apartment.

Anchorage police say a verbal altercation was taking place between a group of people outside an apartment complex at 626 West 34th Avenue just before midnight Wednesday (10/17) night.

Ludmila Edwards went to her window to see what exactly was going on when someone in the group fired a gun and the bullet struck her. She was transported to the hospital. The extent of her injuries are not known at this time.

Police say two vehicles fled the scene. If you have any information in regards to the incident please contact police at 786-8900.
