ANCHORAGE- A 73-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder in a fatal Anchorage shooting.

Anchorage police say Johnie Jones is charged in the death Sunday of Sean Mulgrew and is being held without bail at the Anchorage Jail.

Jones also is charged with manslaughter and evidence tampering.

Police at 3:30 a.m. Sunday took a call of shots fired in the 900 block of Ingra Street.

Police spokeswoman Dani Myren says witnesses saw a wounded man, later identified as Mulgrew, run from a four-plex apartment and into an alley. He died in the alley.

Police followed a blood trail to the apartment and found Jones wiping blood of the inside of the building door.

Police say the shooting likely is related to illegal drug use.
