ANCHORAGE- The Air Force says about 180 airmen who had been deployed for five months to southwest Asia were reunited with their families at a ceremony at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson.

The military personnel are assigned to the 3rd Wing and 477th Fighter groups

The homecoming was Monday.

Military leaders say the squadron performed work for U.S. Central Command and had missions with the British and French.

The 90th Fighter Squadron Commander, Lt. Col. Nicholas Reed, says much has changed since he was deployed 12 years ago. He says the Internet makes deployment better but returning home is priceless.
