Alaska Troopers: Man Falls Off Fish Boat, Dies

Alaska state troopers say a man who fell overboard from a fishing vessel in the Gulf of Alaska has died.

ANCHORAGE- Alaska state troopers say a man who fell overboard from a fishing vessel in the Gulf of Alaska has died.


The man was identified as 40-year-old Cornell Perry Bean Jr., of the southeast Alaska village of Kake.


Troopers say police in Cordova got a 911 call early Monday from the fishing vessel Esperanza reporting that a man had fallen overboard. The crew said the man was pulled back aboard after being in the water for 10 minutes.


Troopers say CPR was attempted unsuccessfully for more than an hour.
