ANCHORAGE- A 42-year-old man riding a bicycle was struck by a car and injured along a busy Anchorage street.

Police Department spokeswoman Jennifer Castro reports that Patrick Erwin on Wednesday morning was riding north along Lake Otis Parkway and in a crosswalk when he was struck by the car.

Castro says the accident occurred when 59-year-old Diolito Arendain, who was driving a compact car south on Lake Otis, made a right turn onto Dowling Road.

Castro says Erwin's injuries are not life-threatening.

She says Erwin was wearing clothes with reflective material and that his bike had flashing lights.
