Fish meetings underway in Anchorage

Public testimony Saturday

by Mike Ford

Marathon meetings are set to get underway at the Egan Center that could change how fisheries are managed in the Upper Cook Inlet.

The Matanuska-Susitna Borough Fish & Wildlife Commission is making a plea to the Alaska Board of Fisheries to allow more northern bound salmon to pass through the gauntlet of nets in the inlet to mat-su area waters.

The number of days anglers sportfish in Southcentral Alaska has fallen to its lowest in 37 years due to fewer fish.
