JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON - Officials at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson say a planned emergency management exercise will involve participants playing the roles of victims and responders.

The exercise is set to take place at the Anchorage base Thursday morning.

Spokeswoman Erin Eaton says JBER active-duty and civilian personnel will participate.

Officials say those playing the roles of victims will use makeup and wax to make injuries look real and bring lifelike training for responders.

According to officials, an increase in sirens and loud speaker announcements can be expected during the exercise.
