Local TV Reporter Fired for Alleged Inappropriate Online ChatA reporter from the NBC affiliate news station in Anchorage is fired for allegedly engaging in inappropriate online chatting with a 14-year-old girl.ANCHORAGE - A reporter from the NBC affiliate news station in Anchorage is fired for allegedly engaging in inappropriate online chatting with a 14-year-old girl. Daniel Fiorucci, 56, was fired from KTUU-Channel 2 Friday (10/19) after a caller allegedly notified the station of the online conduct.
Tuesday (10/23) KTUU president and general manager Andy MacLeod released a statement saying the station immediately notified Anchorage police to investigate the matter and ended Fiorucci's employment.
He had been a reporter at KTUU for the past 8 months.
On the website it's unclear if the 14-year-old was actually a young girl or someone posing to be so or if the caller in the posted sound clip alleging to be the girl's father is actually someone affiliated with the website, http://huntingapredator.com. The conversation went on for more than a minute.
APD's cyber crimes unit is investigating the incident. No charges have been filed.
