ANCHORAGE- A 65-year-old Anchorage man was jailed after his second arrest in less than a week on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

George Trube Murphy of Girdwood was arrested early Monday morning.

Alaska State Troopers at 12:34 a.m. took a report that a pickup had nearly struck a pedestrian near Mile 109 Seward Highway. An officer stopped Murphy in a pickup about five miles away. Troopers say his pickup nearly struck a guardrail.

Troopers say Murphy had been arrested five days earlier on a DUI charge and a judge's conditions for release included an order to not drink alcohol.

He remained jailed early Wednesday morning.
