ANCHORAGE- The Anchorage Police Department is increasing its patrols for the holiday weekend.

Both Anchorage Police and the Alaska State Troopers say they'll be on the lookout for impaired drivers.

If you do drink, you can get a free taxi ride home through the "Off the Road" program.

40 bars will call a cab for anyone who has had too much to drink and the program will pay the fare. Their vehicle will get home safely too.

For all Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson service members or Department of Defense card holders, the Joint Base Against Drunk Driving volunteer program also is available for safe rides home.
