New Seward and 36th will see improvements in the next two years

 ANCHORAGE, AK --  The intersection of the New Seward Highway and 36th Avenue ranks second in the Municipality of Anchorage for the highest number of accidents.

The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities have begun the preliminary engineering design to improve traffic flow , shorten travel time, and improve safety of drivers, bicycles and predestrians.

DOT&PF will make a final decision on an alternative pursue on Seward and 36th later this summer.
Final design will occur in 2015 and construction is scheduled to begin no sooner than 2016.
