JUNEAU- A Juneau man who walked away from a halfway house on Sunday has been arrested.

Juneau police say Shane McCourt was arrested after an officer found a broken-down car with two occupants late Tuesday night and recognized the passenger as McCourt due to his distinctive tattoos.

Police, in a release, say McCourt fled on foot before surrendering as more officers arrived.

McCourt was arrested on charges of escape in the second degree and resisting arrest. The driver, identified as William Buck Ratliff of Juneau, was arrested on a charge of hindering prosecution in the first degree.

Police say both men were taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center and held on no bail.
