ANCHORAGE- State records show a history of allegations against a 69-year-old Bethel man who is now charged with sexually abusing two children.
Records obtained from the state Office of Children's Services show that child welfare officials had reason to believe Peter Tony posed a threat to foster children long before he was charged with criminal sexual assault.
Tony and his late wife, Marilyn Tony, were foster parents for 14 years until 1998, the same year a foster child said she had been abused by Peter Tony.
After losing the foster license, the Tonys opened an in-home daycare, which operated until a few years ago.
Tony's 48-year-old stepdaughter, Kimberley Bruesch, has publicly said she was abused by him when she was 8 years old.
