ANCHORAGE- A man shot outside a downtown Anchorage bar is in critical condition.

Police spokeswoman Jennifer Castro reports that the man early Friday morning was visiting a relative who works Bernie's Bungalow Lounge on Seventh Avenue and D Street.
The man shortly before 1 a.m. walked out of the back gate of the bar on Seventh Avenue. Police say a man got out of a car and shot him four times in his lower body.
Castro says a bar security guard conducted life-saving first-aid on the injured man.
The man was taken to an Anchorage hospital.
Investigators say the shooting likely was intentional and not random. They're asking for information from witnesses.
