BETHEL- Five men ranging in age from 16 to 28 were rescued Friday by a tugboat alerted by the U.S. Coast Guard in open waters near Hooper Bay.

The men missed high tide and were unable to reach the bay. They eventually ran out of gas and drifted into the Bering Sea.

The Coast Guard sent a helicopter from Kodiak and alerted the tugboat Siku just after midnight.

The Siku found the boat and towed it to the bay.

No one was injured during the rescue.
