KETCHIKAN - A woman and a teenage girl died Monday in a one-car crash in Ketchikan.
Deputy Ketchikan Police Chief Josh Dossett says four people were in the compact car on the South Tongass Highway when it apparently hit a guardrail just south of the Coast Guard Base. Police took a call on the crash just after 9 p.m. The Ketchikan Daily News reports 31-year-old April Arland, the driver, and 16-year-old Kiana Seierup died in the crash. Emergency responders rushed the two survivors, 16-year-old Christine Demmert and 14-year-old Royce Trout, to Ketchikan Medical Center. They were then flown to the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage. All four people were from Ketchikan. |
