Airport authorities in Juneau are hoping a second machine to screen checked baggage will reduce departure delays.

Reports say federal funding has paid for the second machine at Juneau International Airport, and it arrived just as Delta Air Lines added Juneau as a summer destination.

That means there are five flights that leave between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. daily. Deputy airport manager Marc Cheatham says that's a lot of bags to go through one machine.
