A grand jury has indicted a Ketchikan man accused of robbing and stabbing an 86-year-old man.

James B. Eddy remained in custody Thursday on $50,000 after he was charged with robbery, assault and theft.

Ketchikan police arrested Eddy shortly after midnight July 7, after responding to a report of a man lying on the ground bleeding. The authorities say the 25-year-old Eddy matched the description of the man who attacked Edwin Shelton, and had some items that belonged to the victim.

Shelton suffered a broken arm in the attack.
