Disney Cruise Lines for the first time is offering cruises to Alaska.

Disney says it will offer cruises during a four-month season of seven-night sailings aboard the Disney Wonder in 2011. The cruise ship will depart Vancouver, British Columbia, and visit popular ports in Southeast Alaska, such as Juneau, Ketchikan and Skagway.

Disney Cruise Line President Karl Holz says Disney guests have longed to explore the wild, natural beauty of Alaska. The Disney Wonder will be outfitted with a 2,500-square-foot cafe with floor-to-ceiling curved glass windows.

Disney's announcement comes at a time when tourism is down in
Alaska because of the worldwide recession.
