ANCHORAGE -- For a month Anchorage's wood lot was temporarily closed.

It wasn't until Alaska Hydro-Ax found a new site for the public to safety get ride of their wood products.

Forester John See said there is more room in this new site to allow people to come and do it quicker.

The new site is on 100th and C Street, across from Target and serves as a snow dump in the winter months.

"The primary reason we are doing this is to give people alternatives to burning brush," said See.
"It's a safer alternative and we want people  to do their defensible space, clear their
brush from the back yards, and bring it here rather than even thinking about bruning it."
