JUNEAU- The City and Borough of Juneau is at odds with Goldbelt Inc., over how much the land occupied by the Mount Roberts Tramway is worth.

The difference in opinion amounts to roughly a $200,000 difference in annual rent.
A meeting between the two sides ended Friday with plans to meet privately later.
Juneau Port Director Carl Uchytil said the two sides could speak more freely privately than during a public meeting. He said the findings would still have to be debated publicly.
The disagreement centers on the property's appraised unimproved value, which Goldbelt puts at about $1.3 million, while the city puts the valuation around $3.3 million.
The current lease agreement calls for annual rent of 10 percent of the appraised unimproved land value.
