Craig Asks Residents to Conserve Water

by Angela Krenzien

Officials in the city of Craig are asking residents to conserve water for the next few days.

The city is still working to refill its 835,000 gallon storage tank. Water supply to some areas was shut down Monday morning because of the shortage.

The shortage was partly caused by a surge in demand because residents kept taps open in order to keep pipes from freezing.

City Administrator Jon Bolling says Craig is about halfway back to normal levels. He attributes the gain to customers who have already been conserving water and to leaky pipes being fixed.

The city expects to be back up to normal levels by the end of the week.
