Dillingham Instructor Gets Teaching Honor

An elementary educator from Dillingham City Schools is Alaska's Teacher of the Year.

ANCHORAGE- An elementary educator from Dillingham City Schools is Alaska's Teacher of the Year.

Denise Lisac received the honor during the Association of Alaska School Boards meeting on Sunday in Anchorage.
Lisac is a Kindergarten-fifth grade reading teacher. She's taught for 33 years, 30 of those in Dillingham.
Named alternate was Tricia Kennedy, a seventh grade language arts teacher at Colony Middle School in Palmer.
