JUNEAU- Juneau is hosting the state swimming and diving championships, the first time the meet has been held outside Anchorage.

The city's new eight-lane, Olympic-size pool at Dimond Park Aquatic Center now makes Juneau eligible to host the championships, which conclude with finals on Saturday.
Isaiah Vreeman with the Alaska School Activities Association says Bartlett High School in Anchorage was previously the only facility in the state that was capable of holding the championships.
