JUNEAU- A Juneau native is in the running for an Emmy award.
Matt Conway is nominated for Outstanding Special Visual Effects in a Supporting Role. The 1990 graduate of Juneau-Douglas High School works on the special effects team for the Starz network program, "Da Vinci's Demons." Conway is a matte painting supervisor.
He wouldn't be the first artist to learn his talents in a Juneau classroom to win an Emmy. John Holmquist, a 1982 Juneau-Douglas graduate, was part of the creative team that won an Emmy for "Rugrats" in 2003.
The Emmys will be presented September 22.
