JUNEAU- Officials in Juneau are looking at revising a local ordinance related to construction near eagles' nests.

Travis Goddard is a planning manager with the City and Borough of Juneau. He says the current system has different parameters for work near nests on public and private lands, and it does not take into account whether a nest is being used.
The proposal being looked at would have developers submit construction timelines rather than having to get clearance at each stage of their projects. That way the city could evaluate if any work would occur during nesting season and respond accordingly.
Plans call for getting a draft of the proposed revision to the Assembly early next year.
