Juneau Police Recruiting for Expanded Duties

The Juneau Police Department is taking over security at the municipality's airport and will hire new officers.

JUNEAU- The Juneau Police Department is taking over security at the municipality's airport and will hire new officers.
The department will take over security duties Oct. 1 at Juneau International Airport.
Chief Bryce Johnson says the city is required to do so as part Federal Aviation Administration regulations for maintaining the airport.
Johnson says the department is recruiting for five new officers.
