PETERSBURG- Petersburg has long been known as a fishing town. Now, you can add the moniker "yachting town" to the description.

Yachting Magazine has named Petersburg the best yachting town in America for 2013.
Petersburg originally made the list of the top 50 towns, and editors at the magazine narrowed that list to 10. Readers then voted online.
The magazine's associated editor, Dan Hardin, says "Petersburg pretty much ran away with the competition."
The southeast community received 44 percent of the vote, and beat out much larger places like Seattle, which came in third, and 10th-place finisher New Orleans for the title. Jamestown, R.I., was second.
The official results are in the November edition of Yachting Magazine.
