KETCHIKAN- A Metlakatla (met-la-KAT'-la) woman says she watched her son argue with her sister, then beat and stab her in their home last year.

Marge Buxton testified Wednesday in the trial of 30-year-old William Buxton, who is charged with first-degree murder in the Sept. 29 death of 67-year-old Leona Meely.

Marge Buxton says she was awakened at 2:30 a.m. by her sister engaged in a loud tug-of-war over a jacket that held cigarettes.

The three sat down to watch television but an argument broke out again as Buxton made breakfast at 6 a.m.

Buxton says she heard a thud and saw her sister on the floor with her son holding a chair. Buxton says her son dragged her sister into the kitchen and stabbed her with a chef's knife.
