National Safety Month

 ANCHORAGE, AK -- Hal Keisor,  a clinet care manager at Home Instead Senior Care, stresses the importance of a safe home.

He says that the numbner one reason for senior accidents is within the home.
"One of the biggest reasons seniors end up in the hospital or the emergency
room is because of a fall most of the times its in the home."
For national saftey month Home Instead is launching a safety campgin, and opening up home safety checks to the Anchorage and Mat-Su region.
"We come in and just make sure that be basics are done," said Keisor. "We look in the environemnt from the driveway to the the front door."
This is the first time the company will expand their inspections to the general public.
"We want everybody, every senior in our area to be safe and that why we thought it would be a great opportunity to everybody."
