JUNEAU- A workshop on snow and avalanche safety is scheduled to take place in Juneau Saturday evening.

The 4th annual Southeast Alaska Snow and Avalanche workshop will feature 10 guest lecturers and experts.
Juneau emergency programs manager Tom Mattice says people enjoy the mountains and the snow and with that comes some danger from avalanches.
Mattice says the event aims to create a culture of safety in Southeast Alaska.
The workshop is set to begin at 5 p.m. at the Juneau Arts and Humanities Center.
