Spin the wheel, choose your car, and start the engines. Each finalist helped generate over one million dollars for the United Way of Anchorage in order to "drive change" and in turn were given the chance at driving a brand new car for keeps. All it took was a simple donation to the United Way.
Locally-owned car dealership, Alaska Sales and Service, teamed up with the United Way for a third year in a row to donate one of their cars in hopes of encouraging contribution and in turn helping fellow Alaskans in need.
This year's lucky winner Heidi Hammond, was the last finalist selected on the wheel so she didn't get to choose which vehicle she thought would turn on but the others steered her in the direction.
She says the first place she plans on driving her newly-owned car is simply home.
