Anchorage, AK -- Today, veterans in Alaska geared up to participate in the National Veterans Golden Age Games.
This year, the games will be held in Anchorage and will include events such as cycling, basketball and swimming.
Over 900 competitors will come to Anchorage to compete in this years games.
The games will take place next week and are open to all veterans ages 55 and older, who receive assistance from the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs.
This year over 30 Alaskan athletes will compete, with the oldest competitor being a 101-year-old World War II veteran!
