Nanoks Sign two Alaskans to Basketball Team

Head Coach of the Alaska womens basketball team announced that two new Alaskan players are set to join the team this season.
Freshman guards Emily Johnson, and Ciara Rae Patton.
Although both recruited and signed by former coach Dave Thompson...they will still join the team this month.

Johnson...a 5-9 Juneau native played four seasons of varsity basketball for Juneau-Douglas high. She also lettered as a defender in soccer for four seasons.

Following a 23-3 season, Johnson led her team to state championships as a senior. Her list of team awards includes best defense, best passer, most inspirational player and the academic award.

Patton, a 5-8 guard from Ketchikan also lettered four years at Ketchikan high. She was named all-4a Southeast Conference and an ASAA all-academic player as a senior and all-defensive team at the Holland-America tournament as a junior.
