The Tour of Anchorage is the nation's second biggest ski race and has been growing in popularity since it first started in the late 80s. This year marks the 25th Anniversary of the Tour and it looks like it might be the biggest yet. The race kicks off on March 4th this year.
It was a tough competition on the Cougars home court! The Lady T-Birds are ranked 3rd in the state right now and have 2 wins and 1 loss in their conference. Both teams were back and forth with the steals, the jump balls and of course the shots. By halftime, East High was beating Service with a score of 16-20.
Felicity Aston, a 34 year old British adventurer became the first woman to ever cross the Antarctic, solo on skis. She did it in 59 days hauling 2 sleds, over mountains, around crevasses, with strong headwinds , and finished ahead of schedule, with 3 days to spare.
