It's an effort to protect children, families and Alaska's water supply.
This Saturday Alaska will join communities across the nation to dispose of unused or expired prescriptions.
We spoke with one young lady who's made quite an effort to raise awareness among Alaska's next generation.


The Alaska Safe Medicine Alliance is joining the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency to host Alaska's 3rd statewide prescription disposal event.
Anchorage and Mat-Sue Fred Meyer Store Disposal Locations:
Abbott Road near Lake Otis, DeBarr and Muldoon, Eagle River, Palmer and Wasilla.
The drop off locations are also at Talkeetna Sunshine Clinic, JBER, Veterans Administration Medical Center (near Tikahtnu Commons).
