Anchorage Symphony Rocks a Cello Concerto
Saturday night the Anchorage Symphony will be presenting a very unique concert. The world premiere of Avner Dorman's 'Cello Concerto' was commissioned by the orchestra to be performed by renowned Cellist Inbal Segev and conducted by Maestro Randall Fleischer.
One of the leading composers of his generation, Dorman's Cello Concerto has an almost rock/metal flavor with Cellist Segev eager to perform it's debut. Entitled 'Storytellers,' the evening will also include works by Beethoven, Grieg, Dukas and Ravel. Some of these, particularly 'The Sorcerer's Apprentice' will conjure memories of the film 'Fantasia.' |
