This Saturday is the 63rd Annual Miners and Trappers Ball and I will be MCing the Costume Contest with the lovely and talented Jessica Jacob. The Theme this year, based upon the zaniness of internationally syndicated cartoonist, Chad Carpenter is "Tundra, It a Chad, Chad, Chad, Chad World."

The doors to the Egan open at 7:00pm and the Ball begins at 7:30, with Music and Dancing to 3 Live Bands. A variety of music to suit most tastes for listening or dancing.

The State of Alaska Beard & Moustache Championships takes place at 8pm– the Beard Contest winner receives the title, “Mr. FUR FACE”.

The Costume Contest takes place right after at 10pm, which is fine with me as I have noticed that I seem to be considerably more entertaining after people have been drinking for a couple of hours.Judges for the contest will be Alice Welling, Esther West and Chad himself.

So, either figure out a costume or grow a beard really, really fast.
