AST Dispactched to location of Suspicious Vehicle

On September 12 around 1:54 a.m., Alaska State Troopers received a report of a man that was passed out in the driver seat of a gold Chevrolet Malibu in the parking lot of the Valley Country Store located on Bogard.

Investigation revealed 44 year old Chad Deardorff of Palmer, was intoxicated sitting in the driver seat of the vehicle with the vehicle running. Deardorff had a rifle in the interior of the vehicle as he was intoxicated. Deardorff was arrested and transported to Palmer AST post for processing.

Deardorff was issued a misdemeanor summons to appear to Palmer court on a separate date for the charges of driving under the influence and for misconduct involving weapons in the fourth degree. The vehicle was towed by MTR. Deardorff was released on his own recognizance.
