Black Hawk Helicopter Touches Down in Scammon Bay with Gifts

Kids in the community of Scammon Bay were treated to a sweet holiday surprise. A black hawk helicopter touched down — and it was packed with holiday gifts. It was all part of the Alaska Army National Guard’s “Operation Santa Claus.”

The program provides holiday cheer to children in remote communities across our state. In all, nearly 1,800 pounds of gifts were handed out to more than 300 children here in Scammon Bay.
