Boater Presumed Dead

Troopers are presuming a man is dead after a boating accident. The boat ran aground Sunday near Point Baker on Princes of Wales island. A woman and her dog are okay after ending up on a rock island but a man — Arne Dahl — was thrown overboard and searchers never found him.  

4 Years Ago In Anchorage

On this day, 4 years ago, south central Alaska was rocked by a major earthquake. The 7.1 quake shut down the city of Anchorage down for a week destroying homes and buckling roads. An interesting little fact to share, according to the state — Alaska has 11% of the world’s recorded earthquakes.
